Antigua
Antigua?s landscape is truly spectacular: undulating grass-covered hills stretch to the southwest, measuring no more than 1,300ft, while lying gently below, the pretty coastline is broken into little bays and tranquil harbours. The only people who appreciate the island more than beach lovers are yachtsmen and carnival revellers. The Antigua Sailing Week starts on the last weekend in April and is one of the most famous sporting events in the whole of the Caribbean. During the last week of July and first week of August the island explodes into life as the carnival comes to town.
